M&A work crosses over into law firm transactions
The merger of Buffalo’s Damon Morey and Syracuse-based Hiscock & Barclay, forming Barclay Damon, spawned a much larger corporate practice area involved in mergers and acquisitions as part of its 11-office footprint. Christopher Greene is co-chair of the practice with Syracuse attorney James Canfield.
In moving from an 80-lawyer firm to one with 275 lawyers, there are more organized and sophisticated governance procedures, but because of the transparency, it can be empowering for attorneys such as Greene.
